Waakye in Cuba

Imagine one’s shock when a platter of waakye was set on the table.

Cuba was supposed to be a quick dash away from the cold in New England, a walk at the beach, a little warmth not too different from the weather in one’s dear Accra but definitely not Ghanaian cuisine.


Not that one is complaining or anything but to see Cubans pour libation after breaking a new bottle of rum definitely made one very comfortable.
